Here's a still from Lennon's movie "How I Won The War".

Here's a clip from that performance, and one of my favorite Beatles
moments ever:
On November 3, 1967 The Beatles wrapped up the filming of "Magical
Mystery Tour" after shooting some inserts for George's "Blue Jay Way"
scene at Ringo's house in Weybridge, Surrey.
On October 14th, 1964 The Beatles performed "I Should Have Known Better" at Granada Television Studios in Manchester, England. Here's some very rare film footage of the stage when the band were performing that was shot from the control room.
Long-time Beatles associate, driver, road manager, personal assistant, business manager and staunch guardian of the Apple brand and band's interests since they broke up was born today in 1941. He's perhaps best known for his public interviews on The Anthology, where he provided his unique and intimate insights into the band from the inside.

Here he is with a rather tired looking Paul...

And, finally, a picture from 2007 a few months before hi passed away from cancer.

Neil's life-long devotion to the band from the moment the formed until his death cannot be understated.
When you visit Abbey Road, much of the street has changed over 40 years since the photo shoot. In fact, many people arrive at the famous crossing and can't quite get their bearings - even while carrying a copy of the album cover as a reference.
There are a few distinctive parts that remain, though, to help you find your way, particularly the railings on the roof of a house that's in the upper-right hand frame. They, and the windows below them seem to have remained frozen in in time and look exactly today as they did so long ago. Once you look up and see the railings everything just fits into place and you can see the exact places where the band walked, and the wall and entrance of Abbey Road Studios to the right. Here's the section of the album cover and railings:With the picture taken last week:
And, of course, the album cover itself:
While walking around London recently, we saw an original, mono Beatles For Sale record from 1964 for sale in an antique record store window just a stone's throw from the Saville Row building where The Beatles performed on the roof-top for the last time in public.
£15 is about $24 -- quite a low price for a piece of history. Sadly, the shop was closed or we would have been tempted!Today is October 9, 2009...and if John Lennon were alive today, he would be turning 69 years old. BeatlesTweets wishes John Lennon a very happy birthday, wherever he may be, and we'd like to take this opportunity to celebrate John's life.
From a young boy in Liverpool...
